Thursday's Adult Forum: Some Men Are Born To Greatness, Others Have It Thrust Upon Them. Still Others Are Named...Lance!

Thursday evening at 7:30 we will look at the selection of the chairman of the translation board and his construction of the six committees' worth of academics and clergy who translated, book by book and word by word, the King James Version of the Holy Bible.  All this plus what it has to do with that slim volume that we use on Sunday mornings.

See you right after Jeopardy!

[Video of tonight's class may, may be available via the weblog later this weekend.  We'll see, as this is a brave new world of audio visual achievement.]

Celtic Bidding

If there is righteousness in the heart,
there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
So let it be.

Celtic Prayer Of The Week [Back By Popular Demand]

Christ, as a light
illumine and guide me.
Christ, as a shield
overshadow me.
Christ under me;
Christ over me;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.
This day be within and without me.
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
in the mouth of each who speaks unto me.
This day be within and without me,
lowly and meek, yet all-powerful.
Christ as a light;
Christ as a shield;
Christ beside me
on my left and my right.

The Nineteenth Sunday After Pentecost

This week Habakkuk introduces the relationship of faith and works which will dominate Jewish and Christian thought for the next 2700 years, Paul tells Timothy of the power of faith, and Jesus puts some of the Jewish leadership in its place.  All this plus what happens when your classroom becomes an apartment and no one tells you.
